Service Description

This is not a class about being afraid. It is a class about being prepared, disciplined, and decisive. Fear is loud and useless. A plan is quiet and works. We do this one in your home, over about four hours, because your house is the only house the plan has to work in. You leave with a workbook filled out for your address, not a generic handout. The firearm is one tool in a layered home defense plan. It is the last layer, not the first reaction. Most of what keeps you and your family safe happens before you ever touch a firearm: in how your home is hardened, in how your family communicates, and in the decisions you make in daylight, in advance, when nothing is wrong. Here is the order this course is built in. Your mind first, because it is the best tool you already own. Then your eyes and ears, seeing what is in front of you instead of what you fear. Then avoidance, getting out or repositioning, which quietly ends most problems before they start. And only then, if nothing else was possible, the firearm. The point of all of it is to teach you to think, not to depend on being told what to do. When something scares you, ask three questions: what am I afraid of, what is the honest data on it, and what can I change about my own behavior that fits my budget, my schedule, and my comfort. You own the answer. That is the whole idea. And this part matters: the legal and life event that follows a defensive incident lasts a great deal longer than the incident itself. Half of this course is about the seconds. The other half is about the months and years after. Both halves matter. What you leave with: • The Four Universal Firearm Safety Rules • The 2/2 Rule, two disciplines before and two disciplines after, with a worksheet you fill out • Your Home Walkthrough Worksheet, completed during our session • Your Safe Room Inventory • Your Family Communication Plan: code word, rally points, who goes to whom • Your Family Witness Script, what your spouse or partner or adult child says to police • Your 911 Script: what to say and what not to say • A dry-practice routine you can run safely at home • A range plan for the next time you go • A post-incident card you can tear out and keep where you can find it The 2/2 Rule is the work of the Armed Attorneys, Edwin Walker and Richard Hayes, and the credit is theirs. Every student signs the FTA Release and Waiver, the release we use for all HTS classes, before training begins. To ask about dates, pricing, or to schedule, email hondotraining@gmail.com.
