ABOUT HONDO

I'm Alex Horcasitas. Most people call me Hondo.

I have spent 31 years carrying and training with a firearm professionally. I retired as a state police sergeant after 20 years, 18 of those on the tactical team, and I served as a lead instructor for my agency's tactical unit. I have been a certified firearms instructor since 1997.

In that time I have trained more than 4,000 students in pistol, shotgun, carbine, and precision rifle. Some of them were holding a handgun for the first time. Some of them were police sniper teams. Since I retired I have kept teaching civilians, churches, businesses, and law enforcement.

What I care about is not whether you can pass a test. Tests are easy to pass and easy to forget. What I care about is whether the skill is yours to keep, and whether you understand why you are doing a thing instead of copying it from me for a day.
