Core Handgun: Advanced
The draw, reloads, malfunctions, and movement. Built on the Core.
Service Description
If you're in this course, you've already put in the work. You came through Core Handgun, or equivalent training we've confirmed together, you know the Four Rules cold, and you can handle, load, unload, and clear a handgun safely without me hovering over your shoulder. Good. That's exactly the foundation this course is built on. Here's what changes at this level: we start adding skills on top of those fundamentals. The draw, reloads, malfunction clearance, controlled movement, and decision-making under load. What doesn't change is the standard. Safety rules don't relax for advanced shooters. They tighten. What we work on: • Presentation from the holster • Reloading under control • Malfunction diagnosis and clearance • Controlled movement on the firing line • Marksmanship fundamentals under increased cognitive load • Diagnosing and self-correcting your own errors • The transition from conscious-step fundamentals to compressed execution I keep this course as neutral as the Core: no assumption of profession, carry method, or use case. That part is your business. My job is your skills. Prerequisite: successful completion of Core Handgun, or equivalent training confirmed with me before class. Coming in, I'm counting on mastery of the four universal safety rules, demonstrated safe handling and loading and unloading and clearing, a working knowledge of the seven fundamentals of marksmanship, and range discipline appropriate for live fire. If a student has lost a step on safety or fundamentals, there's no shame in it, but we go back to the Core curriculum before continuing. Every student signs the FTA Release and Waiver, the release we use for all HTS classes, before training begins. To ask about dates, pricing, or to request a seat, email hondotraining@gmail.com.
