Alex "Hondo" Horcasitas has spent 31 years professionally carrying and training with a firearm. A retired state police sergeant with 20 years of service — 18 of them on the tactical team — he has been a certified firearms instructor since 1997 and served as a lead instructor for his agency's tactical unit.

Over 29 years of instruction he has trained more than 4,000 students in pistol, shotgun, carbine, and precision rifle — from brand-new shooters taking their first shot to police sniper teams. Since retirement he has continued training civilians, churches, businesses, and law enforcement agencies.
